Cahit Trading & Contracting LLC successfully delivered a comprehensive quay wall construction and breakwater installation project designed to create a secure, high-capacity berthing facility while providing robust protection against wave action and coastal erosion.
Executed in the challenging marine environment of the Arabian Sea, the project combined advanced engineering, specialized marine equipment, and integrated earthworks, dewatering, and rock placement techniques. The new quay wall enables safe vessel berthing and cargo operations, while the breakwater system dissipates wave energy, reduces harbor agitation, and safeguards the adjacent shoreline and infrastructure.
Drawing on more than 15 years of Oman-specific marine experience, Cahit’s team coordinated design-build or construction elements to deliver durable, code-compliant structures that withstand harsh tidal, wave, and soil conditions. The project reinforces Cahit’s reputation as a trusted contractor for harbors, breakwaters, quay walls, and coastal protection works across the Sultanate.
- Site investigation, survey, and preparation including underwater excavation and seabed leveling
- Design and construction of quay wall structure (gravity, sheet-pile, or caisson type as applicable) complete with foundations, coping, fendering, and mooring systems
- Construction of rubble-mound / rock-armour breakwater including core placement, underlayer, primary armour units, and geotextile protection
- Rock armour supply, sorting, placement, and interlocking to specified gradations and tolerances - Dewatering, cofferdam, and temporary works to enable dry or controlled marine construction
- Backfilling, compaction, and reclamation behind the quay wall
- Installation of associated coastal protection elements (revetments, toe protection, and slope stabilization)
- Quality control, surveying, and as-built documentation to international marine construction standards
- Coordination with earthworks, civil, and MEP interfaces for integrated project delivery
